Sheri is learning to deal with her anxiety in new ways. This is not an easy task, she is very set in her ways. She will continue to turn to The Word as this is the only place to seek refuge from the storms of life. Sheri's Dad and Brother are in San Antonio Texas, in line with Harvey. Join her in payer for the people of Texas and all surrounding areas that are being affected by this storm.
“Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give
you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do
not be afraid.” John 14:27
This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"
Sheri has to admit that sometimes in this Alzheimer world she lives in it is hard to trust God's plan, to see the big picture. She wants the plan to be crystal clear, like watching her life like a movie. Silly girl, that is like knowing the ending at the intermission.
Isaiah 40:31
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Living with Bob and "Al"
The weather was gorgeous yesterday and Sheri took her camera and loaded Bob and "Al" in the car and went seeking God's glory .. she found it. When she finds an eagle soaring in the sky the exhilaration she feels is beyond words. God is good, all the time.
Isaiah:31
But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Living with Bob and "Al"
Sheri is amazed at what God can do. If you remember Sheri stopped looking for a new place to live, and decided she would just have to deal with the loss of a chunk of the front yard, of this already tiny house she rented, and put up with the 2 year construction project in front of the house which would bring the sidewalk practically to her front door. Finding suitable living space she could afford was just not happening. Well she signed a new lease and when she sent it back by email, she received an email back stating that the owner of the house got a letter from the county stating that the easement that was taking the yard was no longer necessary! If Sheri has learned one thing, it is that there are no coincidences in life. Sheri only thought she was making the decision to stay put.God knows what you need, when you need it, and provides it. God is good. all the time. :)

Living with Bob and "Al"
Sheri is worried about today. The procedure will elevate Bob's pain for a while. They are burning the nerve endings at 5 disk levels in his back. It is hard to make choices for someone with this disease. It does not seem right to do nothing and let him him suffer with such back pain, it limits what he can do and how he feels, and the pain can't be good for his cognitive issues either.
Sheri just needs to pause, praise and pray.

Living with Bob and "Al"
Sheri looks around her and sees so many people in pain. Everybody has their own journey. All journeys involve joy, sadness, comfort and fear. It may be cancer, a disability, Alzheimer's or other Dementia's and so many other diseases. People are plucked from this earth daily. So if it true that we all have a journey, then what is the purpose of all this? Sheri has learned that for her, the purpose is to learn "faith". Faith is "believing that God is who He says He is, and that He will do what He says He is going to do, even when you can not see the result of that faith".
So Sheri is trying to look at her journey with Bob and "Al" and have faith that this is Gods plan for her. One day at time, one moment at a time. It is a struggle, there are no easy answers. She is lonely and her life is not what she expected. But her life is what God expected. :)
Hebrews
1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for.
