This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"
Sheri is sharing a conversation she had with "Al" yesterday. This dear sweet man was trying very hard. Although this brought her to tears, God also showed her that although "Al" does not recognize Sheri, Bob in his heart, knows she exists. You will need to turn your speakers way up loud because it is hard to hear. It about 4 minutes long, it was just audio so she added some pictures from her blog from over the years, please listen until the end. This is why this is one of the worst diseases there is, but there are blessings in here as well. September is Alzheimer's Awareness month, please, please help raise awareness.

Living with Bob and "Al"
Sheri is excited to be walking with in the Alzheimer's Association "Walk to End Alzheimer"s" walk next Saturday. Below is a link to her donation page. If you feel you have something you can give to help find a cure Sheri, Bob and "Al" would appreciate it. :)

Living with Bob and "Al"
Sheri wants to thank all of her readers for taking this daily Alzheimer's journey with her. Most of you are on a similar journey, and Sheri gets as much support from all of you, as you have expressed she gives you. Sheri is going to live in the moment today and she hopes you do the same. Hug your loved ones if you can.

Living with Bob and "Al"
Bob and "Al" are sharing space
"Al's" confusion is showing on Bob's face.
"Al" is eating all the time,
Bob's pants are tight and he is not sure why.
"Al" goes to "work", and talks all day
Bob comes home and has nothing to say.
"Al" seems happy and living carefree
Bob is a stranger not often seen.
Together sharing life it's the best it can be
Sheri and Bob and "Al" makes three.
"Al's" confusion is showing on Bob's face.
"Al" is eating all the time,
Bob's pants are tight and he is not sure why.

Bob comes home and has nothing to say.
"Al" seems happy and living carefree

Together sharing life it's the best it can be
Sheri and Bob and "Al" makes three.

November is Alzheimer's Awareness Month
You may think this stuff is to hard to read
It is depressing I know at best
"it doesn't affect" me.."
so I"ll pretend, I'll pretend it doesn't exist
But the very hardest part of this reality
Is that this could be anybody's "Bob"
Anybody's family
It just might be your Grandpa
or Mr. Green jeans right next door
it could be your doctor
or the cashier at the store
It could be your Grandma
or the one that does your hair
It could be sister
Would that make you care?
Learn the warning signs
that signal, that all may not be right
So the shadows will not overtake
your "Bob's" shining light.
Proverbs 4:7
Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom.
Though it cost all you have, get understanding.
