This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

When Sheri lost her home in 2011 in what she reffers to as " Alzheimer Forclosure " her garden was the thing that Sheri hated to lose the most. Daughter number 1 ( the one who wears her heart on her sleeve) has really tried to help Sheri create a new place of peace and serenity in her new "not her garden, garden at this tiny rental house. The house is tiny, but it has a very nice back yard. Daughter number 1 bought Sheri hanging baskets on Mothers day and worked with Sheri moving hosta around and laying mulch over the Memorial Day weekend. Sheri gave "Al" some old broken garden lights and a rag and asked Bob to clean them, which kept "them" busy while they worked on the garden. Sheri is very blessed to have such a giving and caring daughter, she has the ability to help Sheri remember what she enjoyed in life before "Al" moved in. I love you daughter number 1.
