This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob had a field trip at "work" (code for Adult Day Center) yesterday. They went to the History of Radio Museum. On the way out of "work" when Sheri picked him up at the end of the day, Bob's "boss" said to him "We had a great trip to the Museum didn't we Bob?" "Al" looking quite confused said " I didn't go anywhere" his "boss" said "sure you did, we took your picture." "Al" still had no recollection of an outing. Bob got into the car and then with his thumb in his belt loop stretching out his back in his usual way said " See I told you he is always sneaking out, leaving me to handle the staff. Now he expects me to cover for him. "    :)
