This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

When Sheri dresses "Al" and helps him button his shirt, Bob will say "whoever thought of putting on these tiny buttons is sadistic". Sheri just agrees and nods, but she knows that is code for  "I have no idea why I can't button my own shirt."

Living with Bob and "Al"

"Al" was struggling to put Bob's belt through the belt loops on Bob's jeans yesterday morning. Sheri is sure that the fact that the belt "Al" was using, was really Sheri's camera strap might have had something to do with it.  ;)

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri is sure the new fashion statement "Al" has with putting his clothes on over his PJ's before he goes to bed will catch on. Who wouldn't want to cut that extra 5 minutes off of getting dressed in the morning.  :)
