This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri has been very lucky that "Al" is complacent and passive, but for some reason "their" shoes are very important to "them" and after taking them off "they" want to put them right back on. "They" would sleep with them on if Sheri let them. She knows she is suppose to pick her battles, but trying not to get kicked at night by shoes... is a battle she is picking, well at least for now :)

  1. I have to say, that's a battle I would pick too Sheri. Just to let you know that I look forward to your blog everyday. I look after my Mum full time, she has early onset Alzheimers (it's her 65th birthday today) and I think we share the same sense of humour. I really have a giggle when I read some of your posts, my Mum comes out with some hilarious comments too. The other day I was telling her about a guy who was in hospital who had lost his leg. She tells me (completely seriously) that he must have left it lying around!

    1. Thanks for the laugh. Its something that doesn't always happen in our lives of caregiving.
