This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri loves the "Adult Day Center " Bob attends called Open Circle. They helped them make Valentines! Sheri know's it was "Al" "working" that day because although Sheri refers to him here as Bob, his family has always called him Robert, and he signed cards to her that way, something only she would know. But  it is okay, it was the intent that counts. So very sweet :)   Happy Valentines Day to all the members of the "Lonely Hearts Club".

  2. Oh so bittersweet. My hubby picked a card for me.
He asked me to find it today. Then he tried soo hard to write it. But, he told me he messed it up. He couldn't write
His name or mine. Struggled to write lov. Told him I loved it! Kissed him while I tried to hold back tears.
