In Sheri's never ending quest to find something for Bob and "Al" to do, she has bought more bird houses from the craft store for "them to paint." The last batch finally got moved outside because of lack of space in this tiny house she rented. Sitting outside on the swing last night Bob looks across the yard, sees the birdhouses and says to Sheri "where did those come from?" Sheri replied with a smile on her face "Those are the other ones you painted." "Al" replied " A... no, I don't think so... I would have done a much better job." :)
(heavy sigh)

ReplyDeleteI Just want to say that I Love your coping mechanism and the third person reference to yourself. My mother-in-law does not have an official Alzheimer's diagnosis for whatever reason but she does have dementia.
I am trying to help her and the family cope as things are going down fast. "Mom" is losing names, names to items among other things. She is mostly "there" but behavioral issues can arise because she still knows that she's losing her mind and focus can be difficult. She has lived a wonderful life, and now the going gets tough. I wondered years ago if there might be issues but no one listens to an outsider even after 27 years! She is 72. I am going to put you in my favorites!
