This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

In the last month or two, Sheri has noticed a "child like" quality that often appears out of nowhere in Bob.
He was playing with the little cat Zoey last evening. As Zoey got tired and started to slowdown she kind of plopped by Bob's feet, one paw resting on his foot."Al" leaning over the side of his favorite chair struggling to look down at her, catches Sheri's attention and pointed down at the ground with his huge hand and says " Look, do you know why she is doing that? She is trying to hold me down so I won't get up and leave!" He was so sincere with a huge boyish grin on on his face, a hint of youthfulness she had not seen in a long time. Simple pleasures she thought to herself, simple pleasures.  :)
