Sheri is going to take Bob and "Al" out driving to look a the fall color today. Sheri can feel the frozen tundra sneaking up on her. Although driving is not really something Sheri has liked very much in the past, there is a certain peace about it she is enjoying now. Maybe it because she knows it is not to hard on Bob, she can pray and sing songs with the radio...the conversation is obviously not very deep or thought provoking, but Bob enjoys the changing view from behind the car window. And maybe subliminally, it is as close to running away from this mess has Sheri is going to get.
This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.
