This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"
When Sheri picked up Bob from "work" (code for Adult Day Center) and they got in the car Bob started chattering right away. He was happy has a clam. "Al" had been on a trip to the mountains and recognized the area because he had been there before and knew his way around. He explained that he spent most of the day trying to get all the layouts right in the store, which in the same breath "Al" asked Sheri if Mom was at work, because he tried to call her several times today. Bob has not used a phone in many years, but it was probably good he did not reach Sheri anyway because being in the mountains and all... the cell reception would have been terrible. :)
