This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob kept talking about the "seniors" as if he were not included in that group. So Daughter Number One ( the one who wears her heart on her sleeve), asked him how old he thought he was. After shifting his eyes to one side and jaw to the other, "Al" replied with a slight question in his voice "59"?  (True answer 71) Daughter number one smiled and said, "and old do you think I am Dad?" "Al" replied "48'? Daughter Number One clarified for him and said Dad I am 24, "Al" with a look of disbelief on his face said "Na... can't be"   :)
