This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri is remembering a time when the kids were little and the five of them lived in a small three bedroom apartment. Bob built shelves in the corner of the living room, from floor to ceiling for all of  their toys in a matter of hours. Bob was a firm believer in "a place for everything, and everything in its place." "Al" however, can not find his glasses or his cane, and can't figure out how to start the battery operated drill. What a stark contrast to man Sheri married. This disease takes everything.
On the lighter side, they won't get charged for all those holes in the walls this time. :)
