This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Three days off with Bob and "Al" on a long holiday weekend is challenging for Sheri. She decided to to put Bob and "Al" in the car and just drive. Even though Sheri is not a driver by nature, there is something very freeing for her about driving. She thinks it is because Bob does not expect anything of Sheri while she is driving. She is doing what she needs to be doing and Bob and "Al" stare out the window, and now a days with phone navigation she is not as paranoid about getting lost, when "Al" starts reading every street sign and tries to give her directions. :)
Thanks David for reminding me about driving. :)
