This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

There is a lot of snow in the frozen tundra this winter and Bob is sure it is the most he has ever seen. On the way to "work" (code for Adult Day Center) yesterday "Al" was commenting about the amount of snow, and said "wow look at that, we just need a few more of those lined up that would take care of the snow." Sheri not sure what he was referring to said " A few more of what?" "Al" pointed out the window and said "that!" "Oh" Sheri replied "that is the sun."Al" turned to Sheri with a very stern look on his face and said " Well. what ever it is we need about 5 of them lined up in row."
Heavy sigh.... But he is right. :)
