This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob has been obsessively concerned about the real staff member at "work" code for Adult Day Center, that lost her Mom recently. Everyday he says he has not seen her, and is concerned if she is alright. Sheri tried to tell him that she had seen her so she thinks she is okay, "Al's" response however was, "No, no I don't think so."  :(
That is the sad part of this disease, pain for "them" never goes away either, they re-live that experience over and over again.

  1. Some pain don't really go away. That is why they need people who genuinely care about them and who know how to manage and work with Alzheimer's. People who would look after them and support them in every way they can.
