This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with with Bob and "Al"

Bob is turning 70 today. Sheri can't believe it has been 6 years since "Al" was discovered living in the shadows. "Al" was around so many years even before that, but Sheri did not understand the changes in Bob, and now at this point, it is Bob that lives in the shadow's and does not surface out of the darkness often. Sheri told Bob it was his birthday, he replied  "oh, I don't think I know how old I am." Sheri said "Well this birthday is a big one! You are tuning 70! Bob, stretching out his back in his usual way cocked his head to one side and replied "No, no I don't think so."   :)
