This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri thinks she might be a little depressed. She is going to be 55 in a couple of weeks. She feels like she lives the life of a 75 year old. She feels like life is slipping away, without any ability to change it. It is nobodies fault, it just is what it is. Oh well, at lease she will be able to order off the senior menu at Perkins. Although" Senior" seems ridiculous at 55.

  1. Sheri, I turned 55 in December...we can also now order off the senior menu at Denny's too. Other than that, we don't get the "big" discounts until age 65...I think we're still considered "junior" senior citizens. I know you still have quite a road ahead and your are in my prayers. 2. I was just thinking today, "Who put these old lady hands on the end of my arms?" Don't get down about your birthday - my mother (91) always says matter-of-factly, "Well it's better to have one than not." :)
