This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character"Al" that I created in 2008 represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri's anxiety, depression and ability to cope seems to change daily. She will be signing new care plan documents today, "the boys " will be fitted for a wheel chair. Sheri is feeling like she needs a care plan too.
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NIV

  1. Prayers are lifted for you and "the boys" as you navigate this new turn. The "losses" caused by this hideous disease seem to be never ending. And the pain only increases with every one of these losses.
I pray that the Holy Spirit comforts your heart as you sign these papers and reminds you of the place where tears, pain and sickness will be no more. Christ has risen and so shall we.

  2. Prayers. We recently changed our father's care to palliative/ hospice which has been surprisingly wonderful (well as wonderful as dementia care in a facility can be as you watch a loved one go from ambulatory to wheel chair bound).
