This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

It is a new day and Sheri woke up this morning and that should be enough. She needs to just breathe.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” (Phil 4:6

  1. Matthew 6:25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? . . . 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? . . . 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
The challenges we face in life, as difficult and unpleasant as sometimes they are, give us opportunities to learn to put our faith in God to deliver us. And this faith is the key to Eternal Life in the presence of God.
I remarked to my wife not 3 days ago that the one and only good thing about my EOAD is that it has strengthened my faith, which is more important than anything. So I'm with you, Sheri - turn it all over to God in faith. Heading Somewhere
