This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living With Bob and "Al"

Happy Valentines Day to everyone. This is a day Sheri has preferred to skip for many, many years. It is not that she needs flowers and candy, it is more about all the losses it represents and this year seems especially painful.
Sheri would like to thank Carol Bradley Bursack for including her poem in her article on Celebrating Love: Dementia Caregivers Speak Up  on her Web site Minding Our Elders a Web site that deals with all kinds of Caregiver issues. Sheri has referred to it many times. Thanks again Carol. Click into the links to see the article :)
