This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob was always a bit of a clean freak. His strict German upbringing had him cleaning things in detail ...often. Bob does not care much about those things now but "Al" has taken to cleaning the toilet with just his hands and since Sheri is never quite sure when "Al" has been on a cleaning spree,  Sheri is not using potato peeling as an activity any more. :)

  2. Interesting...my "Al" has a thing about the toilet as well but uses his hands. Needless to say I make he has washed them after. He doesn't do it anywhere but home, thank goodness!
