This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob was feeling better yesterday, however Sheri was not. So in order to keep "them" engaged Sheri brought out one of the 36 piece Alzheimer puzzles again, knowing he can not complete them. Things were going fairly well, Bob finding a piece or two here and there. But then "Al" starting asking for an exacto knife to trim the pieces down and began roaming the house looking for one. She did not have the energy to distract him, so she compromised...  "Al" scotched tape the puzzle together.
Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do :)
