This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Poor Bob, he still wants to do things for himself. Bob stood with his coffee cup in his hand in the living room this morning. "Al" took the two steps from his chair over to the TV and said to Sheri "Is this where the coffee pot is?"
Sheri hates this disease.

  1. What a terrible disease Sheri my prayers are with you and your husband
It also hurts me to see my husband suffer, my husband is at the stage where he knows his memory is failing him, he keeps saying “I wish I had my memory back please GOD give it back to me”.
So sad lately I cry a lot just thinking on what is ahead of us, I am so scared. I know everyone says take one day at a time but it’s very hard not to think of our future.
Thanks for sharing the information on your blog Sheri.

    1. Thank you for your feedback Rina. I guess I am lucky in that respect Bob has never had any awareness of his illness. It is hard to take it one day at a time with the future looming over us. All you can do is your best.
      Sheri
