Sheri keeps trying to remember that God has a plan for her life, and that He works all things together for good. She hates the loneliness that comes with this disease. Her jealousy of others overtakes her mind and she gets depressed. She try's to see through the pain to the other side, but the ocean feels pretty big sometimes.
Psalm 38:9
O Lord, all my longing is before you; my sighing is not hidden from you.

Sheri, I am just dropping a line to let you know that I read all of your posts, and my heart aches for you as you deal 24/7 with watching your partner and soulmate slip away. It's tough enough when a parent develops dementia, but when your spouse is diagnosed, the isolation is intensified. I hope that you can have some peaceful, quiet moments when "Al" fades a bit and you can have glimpses of Bob, the man you love. That is about all we can hope for when a loved one is attacked by dementia. No one can possibly understand the toll that it takes on caregivers, unless they have been through the experience. You are not alone, although you may feel that no one cares. Many, many people are reading and understanding and wishing they could help.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Ellen, it helps so much to hear that. Thank you for your support.
