This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri was honored to meet one of the readers of her blog yesterday, by accident. Sheri ran to lunch in a local mall close to her work, and a mutual friend was having lunch with this sweet lady. This sweet lady has her own "Al" and is finally involving some assessment aid from social workers. The pain of her decision was apparent and yet there was a look of relief buried deep within her eye as well. There are so very many of us out here in the big wide world dealing with the affects of this wretched disease. We need to support each other in any way we can. Sheri is thankful the internet gives her a way to connect with people so they can embrace each others pain. We are all just doing life together.
