This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

In Sheri's never ending quest to keep Bob active and engaged she gave him one of those extension dusters and asked him to knock down some cobwebs in the corners of this tiny little house she rented. Bob is 6 foot 4 with a very bad back so standing is always better then bending, and with the extension on the duster it was an easy reach for him. Sheri showed Bob what to do but has she turned away she saw "Al" with the duster in one hand but using the other hand and just his fingers stretching on tip toes to knock down the cobwebs in the ceiling, he is tall... but not quite that tall.  :)
heavy sigh.
