This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri wishes sometimes, that she could go back in time and listen to the words of Bob's heart. She would have listen more intently and cared more deeply about the things that mattered most to him.
Learn from my loss.

Genesis 2:18 Then the LORD God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”

  1. How true; how true....

I have to chuckle at other posts - like the one about the "rabbits" (squirrels).

I hope you're able to "chuckle" from time to time, too. A part of me "died" yesterday as I faced some facts about the stage of my mother's dementia. I hope for something to "chuckle" about myself as I anticipate spending the morning with her today.
