This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri needs to put her thinking cap back on. The 36 giant piece Alzheimer puzzles  (although "Al" was still willing to try to work on them) are now being permanently damaged because "Al" is bending, folding, tearing and cutting them to try to get them to fit together. She needs to find a new activity for the cold and blustery days in the frozen tundra.
Heavy sigh.

  1. How about a matching game...otherwise known as "Memory". (I know, the irony!) It has nice pictures and the pieces are all exactly the same...It can still be a "puzzle" for Bob and "Al" without the frustration of "fitting".
