This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob was frustrated at work (code for Adult Day Center), no one wanted to cooperate. "Al" can't understand why no one has any ambition. (Sheri thinks it might be because most of his "employees" are well over 80 :)

  1. I hope you thank God every DAY for giving you a sense of humor! I don't think I told you about the day earlier this week when I went to visit Mother. She saw me coming and was reduced to tears! "Oh, thank the Lord!" She exclaimed as she shuffled toward me. As I hugge!d her she said, "You ARE the Lord!" It was a big role I filled that day....
