This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

"Al" is so concern about being late for work (code for Adult Day Center) he keeps waking Bob up at night wanting to get ready to go.

  1. When I arrived to be with Mother yesterday, 2 aides rushed to tell me she had fallen and they found her between her bed and nightstand. She is increasingly unsteady on her feet. I spent the time sitting beside her as she drifted in and out of happy sleep, aided by the recent "little dose" of anti-depressant they started her on to ease her sadness/weepiness in the evening.
