This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri has learned to focus on the simplest version of things Bob did in the real world that he enjoyed. He hung wallpaper and painted walls in his his youth, Sheri thinks that why he loves to paint the bird houses. He was in the Marching Band and has always loved music so singing in the choir and using their player piano still makes "Al" happy. Sheri thinks it might be all about the simple things, simple pleasures.

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience,  kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,  self-control;  against such things there is no law.

  1. I love this post Sheri! My husband is a humble man, always happy with a warm and beautiful smile. He was a Vice President for a Fortune 100 Company. He loves music and even has it on while the tv is on. I think it makes him feel normal as he sings along and remembers songs! xoxo Maureen thank you always!
