This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri was taken in by the beauty of nature and the gifts God has allowed her to see through her camera. Sheri took Bob and "Al" out to watch for birds again yesterday. Really, it was too cold to be out there and Sheri's hands were almost numb, but then out of no where the most beautiful sight. All the other birds they were watching, flew into near by trees and complete silence took over the area. In the distant sky an eagle, first one then two, it was amazing. They were soaring together higher and higher and then they would tumbled together intertwined, as if dancing together in the sky. It was an incredible and majestic sight. The rest of the animal world remained still as if giving proper respect to the amazing birds. Sheri was so exhilarated watching them she just couldn't believe her eyes. Bob and "Al" were in awe as well and stayed close to Sheri as she was snapping pictures as fast as she could. Sheri left the Wildlife Refuge with joy in her heart and remembering that God is good all the time.

  1. Sheri,
How amazing. I have seen pictures but never witnessed it first hand. Eagles mate for life. What you witnessed was part of their mating ritual. I am not sure but I think that aerial display is only performed the one time. I am so excited for you that you got to see it.
