This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri took Bob to the Thanksgiving Service at church last evening. It was a wonderful service filled with praise and thanksgiving. It was followed by a meal that we all shared together. An older gentleman was sitting next Bob and asked him what he does to keep himself busy theses days. "Al" stared up into space a few seconds and then clearly not sure what to say replied " well... I belong to this group... kind of a church thing." He was clearly caught of guard... and could not find his " work" in his mind, so he drew from his surroundings,  he was in a group and we were at church.   :)
