This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri has had to bag up and return to Bob's "work" ( code for Adult Day Center) pencils, magazines, name tags , wrapped crackers and of all things, toilet paper ( still wrapped of course). Sheri not sure what has brought on this swiping things behavior but this tiny house she rented needs things going out the door, not things coming in.  :)

  1. Oh Sheri My Bob is doing the same thing. Wherever we go , he seems to find something to take. At restaurants,
It's been menus, coasters posters and even asked for a tee shirt like the waitress was wearing.
He takes bottle caps everywhere,...have to get him away from garbage. He collected coins and when he sees a shiny coin in a tip container he has tried to take that too.
Today, I caught him trying to take size dividers off rack in clothing store. Waiting to be picked up for shop lifting one day!
