This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri is struggling a bit to keep her eyes open this morning. Usually her fresh brewed coffee does the trick, but the fact that "Al" woke up sometime before 1:00 am, thought it was time for "work" and managed to hit the on button on the coffee pot, kind of took " the best part of waking up is Folgers in your cup" out of her morning. She would not have know he was up at all, except he came back to the bedroom whistling, and struggling to turn the light switch on. Which then of course made it impossible for Sheri to go back to sleep, and trust that Bob and "Al" would stay asleep as well.
Ugh...
