This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob said they have been watching a lot of videos at work (Code for Adult Day Center). Sheri, trying to encourage some real conversation said "Oh really?" "What were that about?' "Al" replied " A... they were showing us the floor plans, blueprints and lay outs of all the different stores, it was very interesting." Sheri thinks Bob must have been remembering being at meetings from when he was in charge of remodeling Montgomery Wards stores in his first career. Sometimes it seems like "Al" is having one tiny spark of a memory, discombobulated, but a memory. :)
