This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri tried something different yesterday. On the way to work, out of shear desperation for conversation, she talked to Bob the way she used to before she new about "Al". She told him about the rough day she had at work the day before, the stress of deadlines, how she had been feeling about life, blah, blah, blah. It did not change a thing. "Al" sat silent until he started interrupting her sentences to repeat the exact same thing he says everyday, at the exact same spot on the drive to work, every single day. What an incredibly strange disease. Well at least she knows he probably will not share what a nagging complainer she is with his co-workers. :)
