This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri can see the extensive memory deterioration in Bob. He told Sheri a story that she has heard a hundreds of times over her almost 24 years of marriage, it happened 35 ago, but this time "Al" told the story, he had Bob's smirk on his face, and used the same "colorful" language (actually the only story that had "colorful" language in it that she had ever heard from Bob.)There were some hits and misses in the content, but "Al" told Sheri it happen at "work" yesterday. Sheri knew not to correct him there would be no point. But the colors of Bob's life are running and fading into Alzheimer's and there is nothing anyone can do about it.
Sheri hates this disease.
