This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"
Bob was such a kind and gentle man, he would never do or say anything to hurt Sheri's feelings. He never in 20 some odd years of marriage said he did not like something Sheri served him for dinner. He grew up in time period that you ate what was put in front of you. "Al" on the other hand, disappeared into the kitchen last night, and while he did not think Sheri was watching, through his chicken and broccoli dinner in the garbage and made himself... a bagel. :)

So funny but yet so not. How fragile is personality that the very essence of a human being can just alter so wildly. Funny eh? Happened to my mum too - the woman who never cried became like a child at times...
