Sheri just wants to come home from work and carry on a conversation, a true conversation. She wants to tell Bob about her day and have interaction, not give direction. She wants Bob to hug her and comfort her and let her know that everything will be alright. It is not that friends and family don't care... but at the end of the day she still feels alone.
Genesis 2:18
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”
Sheri I can relate so well to what you're saying. My husband had to retire a couple of months ago. He spends most of his days sitting in front of the TV while I work. When I come home he doesn't get up, come to talk with me, or do much more than say hello. He's gotten very quiet over the last few months. Lonliness is very difficult.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, most Alzheimer's patients eventually will need to be placed in an Alzheimer's care facility. Because Alzheimer's disease robs a person of his or her ability to handle everyday activities, often families will find they cannot care for their loved one at home.
