This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al'

In Sheri's never ending quest for something to do yesterday after work, Sheri took Bob to a thrift store. Just some place to roam around. Bob spots a large plastic drinking cup, with a hardware company logo on it, it had picture of a screwdriver, hammer that sort of thing. (Bob was the go to handyman at the hardware store in his last career, so she was not surprised the tools on the label caught his eye.) "Al" picks up the cup, turns to Sheri with confusion and disgust on his face says " well would you look at that, why would you want to carry tools in a cup? That is interesting." (Sheri had a brief moment of " you have got to be  kidding..."running through her mind) then thought to herself there is no doubt the "handy" is definitely gone out of the "man."    :)
