Bob has never been one to show any emotion, this has just been exemplified by his disease. Sheri walked toward Bob with arms open wide to give him a hug, "Al" just moved out of the way.
This is a very lonely disease, as an Alzheimer spouse.
This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Sheri... I couldn't imagine what it must be like. I pray that I never know.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry. There's just no end to the sad moments and little (or big) losses. I hope there are a lot of friends and family who will give you bear hugs this week. XOX
