This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Bob has been enjoying all of the activities at "work" (code for Adult Day Care). He has been bragging about how he always wins when they bowl. Tonight when "Al" was telling Sheri again for the 15th time about how good a bowler he is, Sheri thought she would stroke his ego a little and said "well Bob that his great that you are doing so good, how come you are winning all the time?" "Al" replied with a  great grin of confidence "well, the others are trying to roll the ball...but I throw it up in the air and then the ball lands on top of the pins and they all get knocked down! Nobody even wants to try anymore because I am so good."  :)
