This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.
Dear Sheri and daughters, I wondered if today would be the day. I obviously didn't know Bob since I'm down here in S. Carolina but I almost feel like I did. One thing is for sure: he was deeply loved and cared for by you all. "Al" took some things away but he couldn't take your LOVE. Bob was a blessed man. Praying for you all.
"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever." Ps. 23:6
Sheri, I am so very sorry. Thank you for letting me be a part of your family and travel this road with you. I mourn your loss, while celebrating Bob's healing, now in the presence of his, and our Savior, singing praises in his beautiful voice. God be with you and your family.
"Finish then, Thy new creation; Pure and spotless let us be. Let us see Thy great salvation Perfectly restored in Thee; Changed from glory into Glory, Till in Heav'n we take our place, Till we cast our crowns before Thee, Lost in wonder, love, and praise.
Sending you and your daughters and family all the love that I can.
Sherry, no words can say the sorrow I feel for you. You and your wonderful daughters will continue to be in my prayers. May God grant you the peace that passes understanding.
I am so sorry for your loss and my deepest consolences to you and your lovely daughters. Bob was so blessed to have you and the girls. He was a much loved and cared for man. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I grieve with you the loss of your husband and your daughters' father. I also celebrate with you Bob's full and complete healing and his arrival at his heavenly home. You and the girls will continue to be in my prayers.
Thank you Sheri, for sharing your personal experience, with this terrible disease. You are creative, and poetic, as well can do a mean photograph! Wildlife etcetera. Thank you for sharing your life. It is a brave, noble thing to do. In my prayers.
I am so sorry. I have followed for quite awhile. It seems that one of the most horrible aspects of this disease is the mourning that happens over such a long time-as parts of him went away. You did an amazing job. Dedicated to the end, with grace.
Sheri, i am so sorry for your loss and my deepest condolences to all of your family, Tanis
