This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

The "boys" have had 3 falls in the last 2 weeks. The medicines they have put "Al" on for his aggression, has had a challenging affect on Bob's balance.
Sheri needs to pause, praise and pray.

  1. It seems like there are quite a few changes happening for the "boys" which is distressing for family members, but try to take comfort in the fact that the care home has seen these kinds of changes happen with many residents and are able to address them...it sounds like there is a transition into a new stage and it is so difficult to bear witness to further decline, but you have done everything possible to keep the boys safe and cared for as well as keeping all of us informed on this journey and working a full time job!!!! You deserve a metal lady!!! Tanis

  2. Our journeys these days are very similar. The meds have made my previously ambulatory father sedentary yet restless and it breaks my heart. I continue to pray for peace and comfort for him. May you draw some small comfort from the fact that you are not alone in your pain and despair.
