This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.

Living with Bob and "Al"

If Sheri were honest she would admit that she has been quite self absorbed, something she is not happy or proud about. She finally turned on the news and paid closer attention to world around her, only to realize our country is burning on one side and flooding on the other. She feels shameful that she has forgotten about the side of her that used to care for others burdens. Sheri needs to pause , praise and pray.

    One of the AD blogs I follow is Alice in Memoryland. Alice's last posting was titled, "Facing the Dark Emotions of Caregiving." Sometimes you're too hard on yourself, Sheri. You've done your best to care for Al and Bob, and from where I sit, done very well. You've done a great service for your blog followers by sharing your experiences. Maybe you could find fault with how you've handled some aspects of your difficult journey with Bob, but only He is perfect. Feel confident and proud that you've done your best and wonderfully, and let Him carry your burden from here. Psalm 81:6-7 I removed the burden from their shoulders; their hands were set free from the basket.
