This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri went to a meeting at Bob's new place of employment (code for long term care facility)  for a care plan meeting yesterday. After the meeting she went to See "the boys". When she walked in Bob said "How did you get her so fast?" Sheri was caught a little off guard, expecting that meant he thought he was leaving, so Sheri hesitated a moment to think of what to say, but "Al" released the pressure of the moment as he reached into his bottomless pocket, and pulled out 20 or so colored pencils, leaned in close to Sheri and whispered " I wanted to show you all theses, we can make a mint off of them, but don't tell anyone."
Heavy sigh :)
