This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri thinks Sir Cooper might be a bit better this morning and she is cautiously optimistic. She has been forcing fluids and food with a syringe ever since she brought him home from the hospital, and he has not liked that a bit. Sir Cooper being this ill has brought to the surface again this dire feeling of loss and the hopelessness she has felt for so many years trying to protect Bob from "Al". However it also has reminded her that all life is precious and that Sheri is not in control. She has given all things over to God.
She will continue to pause, praise and pray.
