This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri has an interesting job. She manages a 200 unit apartment community. Because this is peoples homes, life happens here. People get married, babies are born and occasionally a death happens. Yesterday was Sheri's first day of vacation for the wedding. Unfortunately life happens whether we are vacation or not. There was a death on the property yesterday and dealing with a bio-hazard team  delayed her joyous start to her vacation. Dealing with death on such a personal level, does put life in perspective though, so the fact that 6'4 "Al" decided to slide from Bob's chair to sit on the floor to build Bob's blocks last evening is okay with her.

Pause, Praise, Pray.

  1. I am so sorry to hear of another family's loss...but if it had to happen during your vacation, I am glad it was yesterday instead of the wedding day. Prayers of Thanksgiving are being offered as the wedding day approaches! Janice in San Diego
